When a Warning Light Refuses to Go Away
A warning light on the dashboard is easy to ignore for a day or two, but it's usually your car's way of flagging that something isn't right. A diagnostic check in Swadlincote with L.H Auto Repairs helps you find out what's causing it, so you can decide what to do next with the full picture in front of you.
Signs Your Car Could Do with a Fault Check
The engine management light is on or flashing
Loss of power or hesitation when you accelerate
Rough idling, misfiring, or stalling
Fuel economy dropping for no obvious reason
A DPF warning light appearing on the dashboard
Unusual noises, smells, or vibrations
How L.H Auto Repairs Approaches Fault Finding
Reading fault codes is a useful starting point, though a code on its own rarely tells the whole story. Our Level 3 qualified technician uses over a decade of experience to look at what the code is pointing to and check the likely cause properly. We work on all makes and models, and we'll explain what we've found in plain English, along with what we'd recommend.
DPF Warnings and Running Problems
Diesel drivers sometimes see a DPF light come on when the diesel particulate filter is becoming blocked. This is more common in cars that mainly do short, low-speed journeys. Left alone, a blocked filter can lead to reduced performance and more expensive repairs. We offer DPF cleaning, so if a diagnostic check points to the filter, we can help sort it out.
